Its not just about rhododendrons!! We were so lucky to see this very relaxed echidna whilst clearing a hillside in the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Gardens ready for new plantings on the vireya hybrid bank!!!

More plants from our ARSV nursery, spruce up of the vireya blooms and we were ready for day two of the FCHS Plant Expo.

Day one on the ARSV stall, with our members giving loads of helpful advice, at the FCHS Plant Expo 8th March. We had a great display of Asiatic and tropical rhododendrons on offer and beautiful vireya blooms. Its was a very successful day with not many plants left for the following day!!!

Come along to the Ferny Creek Horticultural Societ

Come along to the Ferny Creek Horticultural Society's annual Plant Collectors' Expo this weekend, 8 & 9th March, 10 am to 4 pm.

The @australianrhododendronsociety will have a stall there, so come along and meet Ray and Alex, and lots of other members. There will be some stunning rhododendrons for sale, including hard to source Vireyas. These are just some examples of what you might find.

There will be over 40 other stalls there, so keep a few hours free to explore, come along to the Speaker's tent, take a guided garden walk and keep your energy levels high with lots of wonderful food!

ARSV members celebrated the end of a huge year with a BBQ, great company, and recalling all that we have achieved this year - the launch of the Australian Cloud Forest Collection, our stunning new greenhouses and propagation facilities, some wonderful garden visits, and the list goes on!

Fellow #rhododendron experts, Identification please!!!!!. This rhodo was on the species bench and has finally flowered. The species name didn’t match so thinking it’s probably a hybrid. * 10am 'Heywood House' - Virginia Heywood, of @3crgardeningshow fame, has kindly opened her lovely garden. We will have a guided walk around this stunning garden, where we will have a BBQ for lunch.

* 1.30pm, Bogle arboretum - the horticultural wonder that is the legacy of the amazing Geoff Bogle. The photos of Geoff's arboretum are from @teesedon, who, along with John O'Hara, our VP, have a true passion for the future preservation of the property.
