A HISTORY OF THE INTRODUCTION OF VIREYA
In 'The Rhododendron' of September 1973 there was an article by Lyn Craven entitled 'Vireya Rhododendrons, a history of their introduction into cultivation'. The article was prepared in 1972 as part of Lyn Craven's A.J. Cronin Scholarship at Burnley Horticultural College and was published in "The Rhododendron" with some additions. Appendix 1 of that article provided an accession list of the Vireya species cultivated in Australia in 1973 in alphabetical order.
In 'The Rhododendron' of June 1975 there was a further article entitled 'Distribution of plants to members' by R.M. Withers.
